Animatrik installs a Promosa LED Wall for NYE Lights performance

A recent addition to our Burnaby studios, Promosa’s LED Wall has expanded our service offering, further ensuring that the greatest tools are available to creatives using our studio space.

Promosa’s LED Wall can provide an immersive environment for a video game shoot, aiding the actors and providing quality control for cinematic developers. During film production, studios can shoot with virtual sets in one go, reducing and in some cases eliminating the need for VFX in post altogether.

But beyond game, film, and virtual production techniques, the LED Wall can generate incredible visuals – live and on-stage – for music and performance art. Musicians can get incredible backdrops with interactive CG images enhancing the visual display.

We installed the wall ahead of CBC’s NYE Countdown to 2021 performance with Canadian singer-songwriter, Lights. The artist performed on-stage with Felix Cartel and generated a range of visual effects and lights using the LED Wall behind her. Promosa provided lighting and video for the performance, with the Lighting design completed by Jeremy Pummell of Synapse Design alongside Filming completed by Golden Hearts Media.

It was amazing to implement the wall effectively and so soon after its installation.

We’re excited to work on a range of new innovative projects going forward and we will be implementing the LED Wall in our projects with Shocap Entertainment, specializing in cutting-edge, live productions in music and circus performance. The wall was trialed in our recent LiViCi workshop with The 7 Fingers, expanding the stage beyond its physical limitations.

No location, no problem

The new Promosa LED wall means production companies can shoot extensive environments on-set, without needing to travel to multiple locations. With this addition, Animatrik is equipped for a future with less travel, all while maintaining the same level of production quality.
